Presence-as-a-Service™: What It Is and Why It Exists

Short answer
Presence-as-a-Service™ is booking a vetted person to be present at your home in your place while a service provider works, so the visit happens without you taking the day off. It's At Home with Bell's name for what a Bell Rep does.
What does Presence-as-a-Service™ mean?
Presence, not tasks. A Bell Rep doesn't fix the sink or fold the laundry. A Bell Rep is there so you're represented while someone else does the work: your eyes, your ears, and your advocate at home. You're not hiring help. You're booking presence.
How is it different from a task app, a camera, or home watch?
- Task apps send someone to do a job. Presence-as-a-Service™ sends someone to be there while a job gets done.
- Cameras show you what's happening. They can't check an ID at the door, ask a question, or hold a service provider to the quote.
- Home watch services check on homes that sit empty. Bell is for the home you live in, during a specific visit. See home watch services vs. a Bell Rep.
What happens during a Bell visit?
- You book a Bell Rep and tell us when the service provider is coming.
- Your Bell Rep arrives first.
- Your Bell Rep verifies the service provider's ID and credentials and works through a visit checklist on your behalf.
- You get photo updates and status messages during the visit.
- When the visit closes, you get a summary of what happened, what was done, and any follow-up items.
The details, start to finish, are in what a Bell Rep does.
Who is Presence-as-a-Service™ for?
Built with women at the center. Open to everyone. Bell is for the homeowner whose work happens on site and on a schedule: nurses and medical staff, teachers, anyone who can't step out for a four-hour service window. Your shift can't move. Your Bell Rep can. It's also for the daughter coordinating a repair at a parent's house across town.
Who are the people who provide it?
Bell Reps. Every Bell Rep is 21 or older, passes a Checkr background check before their first visit, and is rated by homeowners after every booking. Bell Reps are independent contractors. Interested? Become a Bell Rep.
Where can I book it, and what does it cost?
Bell is launching in New Braunfels and Carrollton, Texas, with Dallas next. A booking is a $100 deposit that covers a two-hour Bell Rep window, and unused time is refunded automatically. More in the FAQ.
